Maldives records govt revenue of MVR2.1 billion in July

Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) recorded a government revenue of MVR 2.1 billion for the month of July.

MIRA’s official statistics indicate that the revenue for the previous month was 4.7 percent higher than the projected estimate and 54 percent higher than the revenue in July 2016.

The revenue of MVR 2.1 billion in July includes a US Dollar income of USD 53.4 million. The highest revenue was from Business Profit Tax (BPT) at 42 percent, followed by Goods and Services Tax (GST) at 30 percent. The third highest revenue was from Bank Profit Tax at 8.3 percent.
