Religiously conservative Adhaalath Party criticised President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom on Tuesday, proclaiming that the president has been politically ostracised and that he is currently ruling the government with non-experienced officials.

In a statement, the party stated that as a result of several policies, the economy of the Maldives is facing a downturn which has led to the removal of peace and happiness of the people. Stressing that injustice is never permanent, the statement vowed that the nation would be taken to a safer destination by the joint efforts of opposition leaders.

The statement further highlighted the victory achieved in finding unified opposition efforts to reform the government two years back. It reiterated that major developments have been achieved while Adhaalath Party’s leader Imran Abdulla remains behind bars after initiating the exertions.

“It is today’s political truth that President Yameen has been politically isolated after the division of his own ruling party and incessant shuffling of Cabinet Ministers. The government is run by non-experienced officials.”
