Maldives President appoints new Civil Service commissioner

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom on Sunday appointed Ibrahim Shaheeq of Baa atoll Goidhoo island as the new member of the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

Shaheeq’s swearing-in ceremony was held at the President’s Office.

A slot on the CSC was vacated when its former Vice President Jameela Ali was appointed as the Ambassador of the Maldives to Germany.

The parliament had approved Shaheeq out of eight candidates for the vacancy last Wednesday.

CSC comprises of total five members. The current commissioners are its President Dr Ali Shameem, Fathimath Renee Abdul Sattar, Zakariyya Hassan and Shaheed Mohamed.
