Maldives’ mobile base decreased to 840,425 subscribers in September, compared to 862,864 in July. Mobile teledensity also declined to 230.81 in September from 263.97 in July, according to figures from the Communications Authority of Maldives. Of the total mobile subscribes, 141,782 were postpaid subscribers, and 698,643 were prepay users.
The number of fixed telephone lines (including payphones) declined to 19,538 in September from 19,752 in July, while fixed-line teledensity also fell to 5.37 in September from 5.42 in July. Maldives’ mobile broadband subscriber base decreased to 266,957 users in September from 273,574 users in July, while the fixed broadband user base fell to 45,770 in September from 45,885 in July.
