Maldives dismisses state housing minister

The President’s Office on Wednesday dismissed Ahmed Habeeb of Gaafu Dhaal atoll Thinadhoo island as the State Minister of Housing and Infrastructure.

Habeeb was notably one of the most prominent figures that aided in winning the parliament chair of Thinadhoo South for lawmaker Abdulla Ahmed. MP Abdulla is also a part of the opposition working against the current administration.

With Habeeb’s dismissal, there are now three state ministers in the housing ministry.
