Newly appointed Assistant AG Hisham Wajeeh: he served previously as a public prosecutor

The Maldives on Wednesday appointed Ahmed Hisham Wajeeh as the new Assistant Attorney General.

Previously Hisham served as a Public Prosecutor in the Prosecutor General’s Office. He is the son-in-law of ruling Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM)’s deputy leader Abdul Raheem Abdulla.

Hisham was well known as the prosecutor of several high-profile cases, such as Former President Mohamed Nasheed’s terrorism case.
