The Maldives Ambassador to China, Mohamed Faisal, paid a visit to CITIC Pacific on January 11, during which he met with the company’s vice president Li Yajun and exchanged views on trade and investment opportunities between China and the Maldives.
The ambassador said the Maldives is one of the earliest supporters of the Belt and Road initiative and that there is constant growth in the number of collaborations between China and the Maldives. He also noted the presidential visit in December and the signing of the China-Maldives free trade agreement as important steps in enriching the future comprehensive friendship between the two sides.
Li said that CITIC Pacific is actively participating in the Belt and Road initiative and is looking forward to cooperating with the Maldives in energy in the future.
