KDU Sri Lanka awards 20 annual scholarships for Maldives medicine students

Kotelawala Defence University of Sri Lanka (KDU) on Monday, offered to grant 20 MBBS scholarships every year to Maldivian students.

The scholarships were presented by the vice chancellor of KDU Jagath Ranasinghe. The Maldives’ education minister Dr Aishath Shiham accepted the scholarships on behalf of the Maldives government.

Thirty-four Maldivian students are currently enrolled in different courses at KDU.

According to the education ministry’s statistics, 333 students are currently completing their MBBS abroad with an additional 58 students completing postgraduate medicine.
