Judicial Service Commission (JSC) is looking to amend its Act to award the authority of looking into its decisions and verdicts solely to appellate courts.
In its annual report, JSC announced that the commission will work to expedite amendments to the Judicial Service Commission Act authorising only appellate courts to probe cases of JSC’s decisions regarding judicial judges. Currently, cases against JSC’s verdicts are first filed at lower courts under the standard policy of administrative cases, and there have been several instances of lower courts overturning JSC verdicts.
