Founder and Fashion Designer at Raidhas Maldives shared her story on how she became an international brand at the Corporate Maldives Business Expo.
Raidha chose to be an interior designer as a career at a time when Maldivians weren’t so open to that idea. People advised her to go into architecture over interior designing. However, being the curious person she was, she took it as a challenge and pursued a career in design.
When she planned to venture into the market, she first conducted market research to have a better understanding of the market. She came to know that women prefer to have custom wear and came to a conclusion to bring out a brand which is stylish and at the same time affordable to the women. She wanted to create a label that speaks to modern women in a way that no other designer has ever done before.
Raidhas Maldives use social media marketing to market the brand. They conduct their promotions through Instagram, Facebook and participate in various fashion shows. They showcase their collection yearly at the international runway, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Sri Lanka (MBFWSL) and in Dubai Modest fashion week (DMFW).
Maldives Women Entrepreneurs’ Summit offers an exciting new platform, intended to empower women, women-led organizations and SMEs. The summit brought together proficient women entrepreneurs providing them with a zone to interact, network and share their thoughts including access to capital, finding the perfect mentor, understanding the regulatory and legal landscape and much more.
