An Indo-Maldives Joint Army Cycling Expedition which began its journey from Delhi on 11 March 2019 was flagged in by Lieutenant General Vijay Singh, Chief of Staff Sapta Shakti Command at Jaipur Military Station on 19 March 2019.
The expedition was conducted over a period of nine days and passed through the religious sites of Mathura, the heritage sites of Fatehpur Sikri and the challenging landscapes of Rajasthan on its way to Jaipur, after an enthralling excursion spanning more than 500 kilometres. The expedition team, which comprised of ten soldiers each of the Indian Army and Maldivian National Defence Force, was highly appreciated for their distinctive efforts towards the spirit of adventure and upholding longstanding brotherly relations between the armies of the two friendly nations.
