While many people around the world stay wary of travelling, Swedish furniture store IKEA is now selling ‘vacations in a box’.
Each themed box contains a selection of home furnishings, accessories, recipes and pictures that let you ‘recreate’ the distinct atmospheres of places such as Tokyo, Paris and the Maldives.
The Paris box, for example, comes with white tableware and accessories that will let you transform your dining room into a Parisian bistro. It also comes with movie recommendations, such as ‘Les ‘Intouchables’ and ‘Ratatouille’.
The Tokyo box comes with several types of tea, including a teapot and cherry blossoms. It also includes recommendations on how to cook your own ramen, as well as a Japanese cheesecake.
The Maldives box contains several colourful glasses, as well as LED lights that will transform your balcony into an island paradise. Music suggestions include ‘Kasabu Libaas’ and ‘Envaguvee’.
The Vacation in a Box sets are currently available in the UAE, either in store or online.
