The Health Ministry has outlawed the sale of medicines imported into the country through the post and other online means and warned that steps will be taken against those who do not comply.
According to the law, medicines can be imported for personal use if there is a valid prescription and importing medicines for sale through the internet or online methods is prohibited.
The Health Ministry stated that despite the law, it has noticed the sale and advertising of medicines imported through online means. It stated that these medications were not verifiable to use or registered at the Ministry. The Ministry also cautioned that some of these medications did not include the substances of the medicine on the labels.
“The Ministry will take action against those importing and selling such medications without taking getting the necessary approvals and permissions from the Ministry,” stated the Ministry.
