Free Nights in Thailand or The Maldives for Eco-Enthusiasts

Sustainable travel operator Soneva is encouraging eco-enthusiasts to travel with a new promotion. “Stay for Good” at one of their properties in Thailand or the Maldives and you’ll get three to five free nights.

To qualify for the promotion, you must first book one of two “Stay for Good” packages:

A three-night stay at the Soneva Kiri resort, located on the remote island of Koh Kood in Thailand.

Or, a five-night stay at Soneva Fushi in the Maldives.

These luxury properties look pretty amazing. Rates start from $1,124/night at the Maldives’ Soneva Fushi — $905/night at Thailand’s Soneva Kiri. All rates are based on a one-bedroom villa.

But, a “Stay for Good” involves more than just cozying up in paradise (although there will be time for plenty of that to).

While at either of Soneva’s property you’ll have a chance to work alongside marine biologists, horticulturalists and ecologists to help support local sustainability initiatives in the area.

Activities at Soneva Fushi in the Maldives include

  • Snorkeling with Soneva‘s marine biologists to help with turtle identification and coral rehabilitation
  • Helping to register fish caught by local fishermen
  • Assisting the horticulturalists, mycologists and gardeners to maintain the vegetable gardens
  • Participating in beach and reef clean-ups to reduce marine debris and prevent injuries to marine life
  • Learning how to create a seed bank to ensure future sustainability of important crops
  • Making sustainable bricks in Soneva‘s Eco Centro Waste to Wealth facility
  • Participating in Soneva‘s ‘Learn to Swim Program’ for the local communities
  • Contributing to education initiatives in the Baa Atoll
