Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom has paid a courtesy call on President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
The meeting between the two coalition leaders took place at the President’s Office this Thursday.
Details of the meeting have not been made available by the President’s Office.
The courtesy call marks the first official meeting between Solih and Maumoon since Solih’s inauguration on November 17.

The meeting comes amid criticism regarding several Cabinet choices.
The Cabinet and coalition parties:
- Maldivian Democratic Party (40 per cent)
- Jumhoory Party (25 per cent)
- Maumoon Reform Movement (20 per cent)
- Adhaalath Party (15 per cent)
