Parliamentary Group leader of main opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) Ibrahim Mohamed Solih reiterated that it is a huge encouragement to have former President Maumoon back in the country and declared that the opposition coalition will remain together to achieve their goals.

Chair of MDP’s Foreign Committee Abdulla Shahid, who had also served in Maumoon’s administration, stated that several written documents were sent to authorities urging that the public would want to receive Maumoon. However, he said that no authority responded to the matter.

He further declared that no matter the obstruction they have to face, the love and loyalty of Maldivian citizens towards the leaders of the reform movement will never come to an end.
