Edexcel A’ level examinations postponed to Oct/Nov

The Ministry of Education has announced that the Edexcel International A’ level examinations scheduled for May / June have been postponed to October / November.

The ministry said the decision to delay the examination was due to all schools in the Maldives being closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

1529 students have registered to take part in the examinations from 37 schools and centres across the Maldives. While the A’ level examinations have now been postponed, Cambridge University has also cancelled their May/June examinations. This will affect students who were scheduled to sit Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge O’level, Cambridge International AS level, Cambridge AICE Diploma in May / June.

O’ level students in the Maldives write the Cambridge examination while A’ level students write the Edexcel examination.
