Dhiraagu launches fibre broadband, IPTV in south of Maldives

Local telecom giant Dhiraagu launched its high speed fibre broadband and Internet Protocol television (IPTV) services in Fuvahmulah and Addu City on Wednesday.

In the launching ceremony, Dhiraagu commenced a special promotion offering broadband connections and JoyBoxes for Dhiraagu TV free of charge.

Dhiraagu also held a draw amongst the visitors that participated in the ceremony in Fuvahmulah and Addu. The winner was awarded a 55-inch television, a fibre broadband package, and Dhiraagu TV services free for three months. The company also drew four other winners who received the free broadband package and Dhiraagu TV.

Dhiraagu TV currently has over 80 channels, including several HD channels in English and Hindi. According to the company, the service also boasts Disney channels, which were recently introduced in the Maldives.

Dhiraagu offers its IPTV services for a monthly fee of MVR 300.

It currently provides fibre broadband to the greater Male region, Addu and Fuvahmulah, and 39 other islands across the archipelago.
