CSC to investigate allegations of discrimination by Shakeeb

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has announced the decision to forward the complaints filed by employees against Director-General of Department of Public Examinations (DPE), Ahmed Shakeeb, to the Civil Service Commission (CSC) for investigation.

The complaints against Shakeeb were filed with ACC, Human Rights Commission of Maldives (HRCM), and Employment Tribunal.

Information officer at ACC, Hassan Manik reported to ‘Sun’ that ACC does not have the authority to investigate complaints against Shakeeb due to its nature, and has, therefore, made the decision to forward the complaints to CSC.

Employees at DPE have accused Shakeeb of discriminating between employees and have asked for his dismissal.

Shakeeb, a former presenter at Television Maldives (TVM) has been working at the DPE for over 11 years. His spouse, Umniyya Musthafa is also employed by DPE.
