The High Court has scheduled to issue its verdict on the appeal of Galolhu South MP Ahmed Mahloof’s six-month jail sentence this Thursday.
After being found guilty of obstructing a police officer on duty, MP Mahloof was sentenced to jail for six months. However, his sentence has completed this January and he is now serving a sentence of four months and 24 days which ends this Friday.
He was sentenced for pushing police barricades and entering a restricted area during a protest in March 2015. Though the case was appealed earlier, the hearings only commenced last month after his sentence was completed.
