Club Maldives holds draw for CMC 2019 and 18/30 WFF last night. The draw was held with a special ceremony attended by acting Minister of Youth and Sports Hon. Ali Waheed. In the opening remark, Minister stated that the Ministry will be facilitating activities that contribute to developing sports and fitness of the community. He added that the Ministry has endorsed Club Maldives Cup.
It is customary for Club Maldives to promote awareness about social issues. Club Maldives have partnered with Ministry of Youth and Sports to promote awareness about road safety “Magumatheege Rakkaatherikan Enmenge Zinmaaeh” during the event.
Thirty-two teams competing in CMC was drawn to eight groups of four teams and eight teams in 18/30 WFF were drawn in two groups of four teams. This is the 10th edition of 18/30 WFF.
The result of the tournament draw is as follows.
Maldivian, Club WAMCO, Club Aasandha is placed in group A, while Prison RC, Ooredoo, trade Club and Medianet will compete in Group B. Group C comprised of one of the successful two teams MPL and STORC and, the other two teams Team Fenaka who have shown a great deal of strength in their performance and MMA. Greater Male Area (GMIZL, STELCO RC, Club MYS and Fehi Fahi Club will meet in Group E. The teams in Group F are Club MTCC, Customs RC, Thauleemee Gulhun and DSC. Two teams with the highest points will advance from each group to the round of sixteen.
18/30 Women’s Futsal Fiesta 2019
In 18/30 WFF 2019, the defending Champion MPL, four times champion Club Immigration, one time finalist Fenaka and WAMCO will be competing in group A. The group constitutes twice champion DSC, three times finalist Police Club, Trade Club and Fen Club.
The opening ceremony of the tournament is scheduled to be held on 9th April 2019.
