Booking confirmed for Maldivian

Maldivian confirmed a place in the round of 16 of Club Maldives Cup 2018 after the win against Fen Club last night.

Maldivian won the match by 4-1. The first goal of the game came in the first half with a strike from Ibrahim Thahseen (Thaadey) of Maldivian. In the second half, Abdulla Shaffan (Shakaa) scored a brace and Haffaf Sidgy scored to extend their lead.

The consolation goal of Fen Club was scored by Hassan Nimal in the additional minutes.

In the next match of Group-F, Stelco Recreation Club defeated MMA Social Club by 3-0. This indeed is an important win for Stelco RC to dream about the knockout stages, as they lost the first game against Maldivian.

Goals for Stelco RC were scored by Ali Maais (Mattu) and Ayaz Ahmed (Ayaa), where Ayaa scored both his goals in the second half. Ayaa also won the Man of the Match Award for his exceptional play in the night.

Stelco RC shall win their final group stage match against Fen Club on the next Friday, to keep the knock out stage control in their hand.

In Group-E action, Thauleemee Gulhun surprised by defeating Public Works 5-2.

Public Works took the lead on the 7th minute of the match with a goal from Ali Nafiu (Kalhey). However, Thauleemee Gulhun came back stronger in the second half and made the comeback by scoring 4 goals in 10 minutes time, from which 2 goals were scored by Ibrahim Nooradheen (Endi), and the remaining goals were scored by Ibrahim Hassan and Hussain Waheed.

In the next minute after the 4th goal from Thauleemee Gulhun, Ibrahim Hussain scored the 2nd goal for the Public Works. Nevertheless, that did not give any boost to change the result. As such, Endi scored his third goal of the night in the last minute of the match to complete the hat-trick

On the other hand, Ooredoo won easily against Club Aasandha to move closer to the knockout stage.

All four goals of the match came in the first half. Abdulla Zaeem, Haafiz Ahmed and Mohamed Fashir scored for Ooredoo, and Ibrahim Mohamed (Kubbe) scored for Club Aasandha. With this result, Club Aasandha has a very narrow chance to stay alive in the tournament.
