Anticipation awaits for the final group stage clashes of Group-C after a thrilling match day seven

The thrilling action of Group-C leaves all four teams a chance to further advance to the knockout stages of Club Maldives Cup 2018.

FSM continues their decent run in the tournament as they defeated Fenaka 2-0 last evening. A first-half goal from Mohamed Naafiu Ahmed gave lead to FSM in the tight clash. Fast paced attacks were produced on both ends; as a result, there were lots of fouls recorded in the match.
Mohamed Nafiu Ahmed extended the lead for FSM from 11 yards by a long-range penalty on the 37th minute of the match, which was awarded as a result of excessive fouls by Fenaka.

In the other match of the group, Police Club had a dramatic win against Team Avesec by 3-2.

In Group-D action, Customs Recreation Club (CRC) and Dhiraagu booked their place in the Round of 16. CRC won against Maldives Gas 4-1, whereas Dhiraagu got a narrow win against Housing by 2-1.

Naaif Shafeeg took the lead for Dhiraagu in the 12th minute and thereafter Housing had a hard time in defending. As such, Hussain Zuhoor Ismail was shown a Red Card for dangerous play, before Ahmed Rilwan scored the equalizer for them on the counter-attack.
Dhiraagu scored the winning goal in the addition minutes from the 11-yard spot. This goal was also scored by Naaif Shafeeq, who also won the man of the match.
