Departures from March to August 2017 from major Australian cities are available.
Last month Singapore’s low-cost carrier Scoot was sending sunseeking Aussies to Maldives for just over $503 return.
This month it is Malaysia’s low-cost carrier that is taking us to the island paradise with fares almost $100 less than what Scoot was offering. The catch? You’ll be flying during rainy season.
It doesn’t sound ideal, but if you’re a snorkeller, diver or budget traveller who knows a steal when they see one then these prices are pretty on the money.
Perth to Maldives for $403 return is the cheapest fare available with low fares available from other major cities as well. These include Melbourne from $523 return and Sydney or Gold Coast both from $528 return.
These prices are for select flights between 17 March and 8 August 2017 and are for economy seats only.
As AirAsia is a low-cost carrier, this price does not include extras such as checked baggage, on-board meals and in-flight entertainment. These can be purchased during the booking process for an additional fee.
AirAsia charges a $10 processing fee per flight per person on credit and debit card purchases. You can avoid this by paying with PayPal.
These AirAsia fares are not part of any particular promotion and are available until sold out.
