Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) launched a Youth Entrepreneurs Forum to mark Global Money Week in three locations across the Maldives.
The forums were held in three locations, Kulhudhufushi in Haa Dhaalu Atoll, Fonadhoo in Laamu Atoll and Thinadhoo in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll.
According to MMA, they received overwhelming support from youth for their ‘Global Money Week’ campaign. During the forum, MMA provided important information about building a start-up firm and gave business plans for existing business opportunities in the Maldives.
The campaign is aimed at providing children and youth with knowledge concerning money, saving, creating livelihoods, financial inclusion, and entrepreneurship in order to help them adopt a responsible attitude towards money.
MMA collaborated with the Ministry of Education and several other financial institutions to carry out this campaign.
The event organisers also held an inter-school art competition, a video competition and a business forum for young entrepreneurs.
Global Money Week is an annual global week-long celebration initiated by Child & Youth Finance International (CYFI) in 2012.
